I can't believe that I
Again drew the sidewalk patrol
Sometimes things don't run so smooth
Everything gets out of control
Usually it's a pretty good area
As I patrol the Downtown beat
I'm greeted with great respect
And the shopkeepers are very neat
As I pass the little coffee shop
John hands me coffee in a cup
Then when I get near the bakery
I smell the goodies baking up
By the end of my working day
I gather up all my little treasures
For many shopkeepers along my beat
Are priceless and that goes without measure
