The Great No Where...

Missing image

Caught up in a world based on time.
Released in the moments that I find,
to gaze out upon the saw-grasses
the stands of cedar pine.

Reflections of long ago are caught in the pools of standing waters,

Blue Heron calls in the timeless echoes across the endless reed and grasses.

My heart slows to an even pace as I listen to the  rhythm.

All my troubles seem to have been erased
Frowns have been replaced ...by a smile upon my face.

The bright white clouds seem to glow against the South Florida skies for miles ...time has been forgotten.

The moment embraced and concerns have vanished without a trace.

I wish I could share this vision with the whole human race.

The Everglades a great place to mediate.

You sure make this a great majesty by your words, and you make this feel as fresh as the vibrant air I seems befitting, although I've never been there. The thought of. "the endless reed and grasses." seems an exotic esscape. Lovely feel. Tony

Wonderful images in a poem that makes you feel good. I am moving from New York to South Florida in just a few weeks and this poem has increased my eagerness to get there in a romanticized way. Well written.

If you ever have the chance to visit Weston Florida , the heart of the Everglades

Your still close enough to civilization yet across the divide lay a whole world unto its own , the everglades. Markham park is right next door a 660 acre park with RV facilities. Makes going back to nature easy. With adventure and nature trails.

This is an interesting poem because the form doesn't look strict, and I won't expect to find any rhymes in it, and yet they appear here and there. It gives the poem a touch of disturbance, which would work well in a poem where the content supports it, but in a poem regarding meditation it gives a contrast that to me makes the content a little unbelievable or maybe exaggerated. I like the content very much, but I don't feel like the form supports it.
