Masquerade

I walk through this masquerade, a daily parade,
Where everyone is coupled, yet lonely as can be
In this caravan of memories I stroll and learn
Stories yet untold, through the rusting ages of eternity
A make over that no rain can wash away
Permanent shell built that nothing can break apart
What are we but just faces painted
With the pain and red of our heart -
Searching for perfection in this world of impurities
hollow words, our souls made of dust are doomed to fly away
A victim of time, we lose it all one faithful day..

Such a poignantly, sad ppem, yet filled with honesty and truth. You have some wonderful imagery in this. I really enjoyed this 'down to earth' poem.
And might I add that your artwork is just stunning!

Awww, this is sentimentally lovely, not lonely, while searching encloses enough of te gloom, enjoy the peripheral vision.

A very deep poem, filled with such sadness, you seem to be resined to the darker side of the world and life. A good strong poem.
    Regards.

This is nice. We're the nothing wrapped in blood and bone, held back by thought. Wouldn't it be nice if we could all come to the surface and stop acting like animals? You're great, really.

    you're a gem!.. a gem ..a gem.. i love u

  • You're precious.

This is exactly how I see life babe, I understand things you pen within so well, as If I was seeing through your eyes. We both have the same dream we wish held hopes of realities. Peace, and love. How can this world go on and on like this, such pain, such sorrow, but it could be a wonderful place, for souls such as yourself heal my world. I love you, and one day we shall fly away. What a beautiful poem.

Love your Hubby, Timothy aka poeticweaver~ xo

  • I can certainly see where you would get that sort of view...but the truth is YOUR world is whatever you THINK it is...perception is REALITY. I love the ideas and questions you raise inside the words to this piece...great job poet!! peace an dlight, kp

i love the wording you used in this. its soo well written. i love it :]]

  • first two lines aer great and true the world is much like wearing a mask. everyone thinks they have to hide who they really are or be riddaculed. I think I would rather be made fun of don't know about you

next two lines blow me away!!!!! What a creative way two discribe looking back. I love the imagery in this thus far.

next four lines are amazing as well you really must have put a great deal of thought into this.

Conclusion was wonderful!! You have amazing imagery and such a smooth sleek little poem. There was a lot going on here for being so short great job :

  • Dear darling,
this is a very good poem indeed! I quite liked the way in which it flows from beginning to the end. You have mastered the art of using simple words to form magnificent verses. This has a tint of negativity in it. The poem is amazing but the world can be portrayed in a better i.e. positive way. Things are not that bad dear, just change your viewing angle! Keep Writing, Thanks for sharing
    love
