Seven Weeks [then he leaves]

one;
he stood at my window, peering in

as if he expected someone -

expected me
though I never knew him,

or maybe in a dream.

two;
I saw him again today--

he wore a bright yellow t-shirt reading,

'lifes all about chances'

and I knew then,

he was me, completely

in less makeup & plaited jeans.

three;
he likes cinammon & lucozade

I found that out today,

when I saw him leaning out his car,

bottle in hand, shouting at lonesome schoolboys,

telling them to move along

[and I secretly begged them to stay right there,

so I could watch him some more].

four;

I always loved the name Andy

now I know why.

five;
'Becky--you have beautiful eyes'

his mouth twists and smiles, he's on the phone

and yet, he speaks of my name so softly

to a receiver with no recollection.

I love him.

six;

I must be mistaken,

for I swore I saw comets in his eyes,

but maybe he has contacts -

that's right, his orbit sparkles.

seven;
where has sunshine gone,

when summer has only just finished

and reality scrapes her icicle fingertips across my lips

and hushes me.

Pretty boy, where have you flew south to?

    An amazing poem. It's very well written, quite powerful and original. I like how you showed the 7 weeks within the poem. Wonderful imagery. I know the feeling. It sucks when they leave without any notice. Excellent take on the prompt.
