Suicide....

Deep blackness swarms,
Choking,
Squeezing all life.
Hope slowly drips,
Like honey into the flames.
With each drop,
This flame rages.
Scorching already withered souls;
Burning the remnants of care.

A false hope soars above all others.
The hope of escape,
The lie of freedom.
Many fall to this wretched pit;
And destroy their feeble selves,
For a lie.

With each soul that cries its last,
Pain is multiplied thousands more.
Thrown viciously on the those who fought,
And pummeled into those who lost.

False hope,
Destructive lies,
All because of wretched misery,
And torn souls....

    these lines bring to mind the desperate hopelessness, of prisoners of war. or just terrorist situations as well. this is a pretty good piece for something just thrown together.
