Pontoon Man
Charles R Marks
To RKB
Ripples in the water
To waves of water roaring side by side
As you would sail right on by
Waving at those who passed and having to
Honk your horn to let them know it was you calling
On water you were well-respected
On the land you were the person everyone wanted to see
But on the water you were our pontoon man
We wanted to see
To a beer can in one hand
To a pair of tongs in the other
Frying up those ball park franks and those baked brown beans
With the wind moving and guiding our everyway
It would at times let us catch that eagle that flies by
Or let us catch those fishes jumping out of the water
For a mid day snack
Remembering your reactions is something no one will ever forget
As you loved being the man who drove a pontoon
And being called Our pontoon Man
