Thither

fetched from afar,
having been flung,
my moon commiserates my
tardy ebullience with a
back-pat,
nudging me on to better things of the past,
to take into the future.

Having left baggage behind,
take care not to burn the bridges you crossed,
she cautions me,
while a lone tear
trickles down
in search of a facial nook to dry in.

    A Haunting Moon Poem

As you can tell from my user name, I can't help but be attracted to poetry that features the moon. I like the alliteration and half-rhymes in the first stanza and you've been creative in using moon imagery to contrast wanting to hold onto our past with the need to move forward in our lives. This poem is insightful and poignant. Nice work :-)
