Even Angels Can Fall

When your head spins around and your soul is bemused
When your thoughts are so weary and well over used

When you just don't know which way you should turn
When the answer you seek is a lesson to learn

When no one can tell you what to do for the best
When you know what you want will cause pain for the rest

When you lie to yourself saying everything's fine
When you know deep inside you will cross the line

When temptation is strong and hard to resist
When you think this could be a chance you have missed

When the one thing that stops you is your own guilty pain
When you know you will break if the chance comes again

When you know that its lust, and it cuts to the core
When you're scared to admit that you want something more

When it hits you like lightning as a bolt from the blue
When you ask yourself "do they feel the same about you?"

When you're falling too hard and too fast to be real
When you know that this cant be love that you feel

When it's making you doubt what you already admire
When it's killing you slowly and your heart is on fire

When the pain is so bad when they're not around
When that happens its time to plant your feet on the ground

Wake up, don't suffer it's all just a test
Find the right path and you'll find what is best

Don't think, don't feel guilty, you're human after all
No one is perfect
Even Angels Can Fall

The back ground is stunning. The ideas beautiful. The use of repetition is an art of meaning and rhythms. They need to shift and become the spine upon which the body of the work is strengthened by. The use of a prepositional phrase heralding a possible event becomes like a promise unkept when it runs for too long. Artists can easily become enchanted by all the changes they can envision forgetting that the power in their art is enhanced by using no more than those necessary. I am not the one to tell you what to choose or where to answer the possibility by the delivery of promise. But I can say, It felt to me as if you perhaps went on for little to long.
    Peace,
    Tom B.

The symmetry, the flow combined with the rhyme--great effect and depth. The first line, "when your head spins around, and your soul is bemused"--wonderful opening!
    Relatable and poetic.
Thanks for sharing on this site!

  • Freakin Awsome...

You penned this so perfectly I dont even know where to begin. So emotional and so right. I think that this could be one for the books. Please keep on writing.

    Poetic Hearts.

  • That was incredible amazing. It reminded me of Satan's fall, which is what I'm sure you went for and if not, it's good for people to have different interpretations. I love this poem and I think all of the lines are very very strong.

Favorite line: When you just don't know which way you should turn
When the answer you seek is a lesson to learn

    And.. No one is perfect
    Even Angels Can Fall

Areas that need improvement: None that I can see

    Overall grade: 10

    Awesome job!

    *jaw dropping effect*

Wow, normally I don't connect with poems about pain, but how this is written it can be applied to nearly anyone. Instead of implying, this poem is knowing in a way that nearly any reader that reads this feels " This is talking to me."

The whens work rather nicely and the rythme use keeps its strong

    I loved it great poem

you seem to have something about you that relates to many of my life experince like at this moment in time of my life. your a very good poet and i admire you for putting your life into your poetry. Good One!!!!!!

  • Love It

Superbly crafted, and the "when's" well structured. Your poem gave me the same feeling I had when I first read Rudyard Kipling's "If"... I could just feel the wisdom. Wonderful ending, great overall.

what a punch power guided poetries about life and how we all fall down ... such is so painful when we do... when we fail those tests, brings tears to mine eyes lots of times... so this poetries was so comforting to read for we are fallen angels. maybe we are meant to fail those tests to learn lessons? for if we ne'er failed would we learn? ... and what about the cycle of failing tests over and over and over again? at some point ... we are prepared. or in love we get second chances for victory powerful. Love,

    oh how lovely

I like this very much, it is good to know we are not the only ones falling, this is just beautiful, words and images play off each other so well, thank you for sharing

  • Quite lovely. I really like the line "When you're falling too hard and too fast to be real" It's so like true love. Such a "freak out" experiance

  • Lovin it i mean this is defintely touching a raw nerve with me yet it has very good ideas that can defintely be explored. it makes my thoughts feel alive. I think that angels definetly fall but whats not really known is why they fall and why can reach such depths of feelings in their souls to fall ! again great poem

  • great poem

  • well then i am going to keep on falling. bc that is me all the way. its like you were reading some of my heart
