Crying Wolf

you loathe the crying wolf
and you're right in your assumptions
it's not what I need right now
as the world around me gets better
I will try to let it fall away...

but its sad song still
gets to the core of me
I almost want to walk into sadness
just to see if it remembers me

forgive my indecision
I am only a woman
there is no omnipotence
on my side...

nightmares should
loosen their grip
when I wake
but here they stay
and burn their stake

lost and confused
till the anger dies
crying wolf, crying wolf

forgive my indescision
I am only a woman
there is no omnipotence
on my side...
on my side...
crying wolf
on my side...

  • Oh, of course I got it,
    don't know why others
    wouldn't...

  • Wow this is THE woman poem.
So totally true, and exactly how
I feel. Love the little emoticon
    beside "crying wolf"

    This part really struck a chord;

    "but its sad song still
gets to the core of me
I almost want to walk into sadness
just to see if it remembers me"

--That was SO emotional, yet darn beautifully penned. I loved it.

This is my fav. write of yours,
    though there are many more
to be read, and the ones read
already are five star in my book.
But this one, really hits home for me.

    • Thanks hun, that's my favourite part of the poem too. A lot of people who read this are like "what?, I don't get it!" so I'm glad it hit home for you...
