The past of arms, people like kings
Battering the world with their false power
Not truly understanding, only blind to the inequity of their actions
Bitter sin, surging through our veins and yet they cried for more power
Many brothers many sisters, left to chance, no one cared for their struggle
That is not what God intended
The mold of God, a work of art, not an art of profit
Pure children, passed on like possessions
To pay for their lust
Drunken sights, overdose of nature
What they gave for that is inexcusable
Soul battered fools celebrating the decaying of the world
Not realizing they are the plague
Tentacles of Satan, sucking the world dry
Sucking all the gifts that God gave
The biggest gift being one another
We hide behind a wall of double pane glass
Seeing, but only barely
The more we curse the more thickly the glass becomes
We have lost each other to….it
Battle drums so loud only to seem silent
We are numb to our own wars, like they don’t exist
The war with one another, with ourselves, with our Lord
When will we see, we are our greatest sins
When will we truly love each other, love all

For Contest Purposes:
Over my people they have cast lots;
they gave a boy for a harlot,
and sold a girl for the wine they
drank.

what a great revelation of understanding. The message is truly worthy of poetry and you did a terrific job carrying it here to all readers.

Poet
A deep insight and wisdom as to what is one of the major problems with todays world...The need for it all to be ' about me ' . As advertised by our secular world, we have , in some minds become our own gods. But times change and as been said..' In foxholes there are no Godless people '

Wow; I am completely breathless.
This has touched my heart, and
made me come to terms with my
own actions and wars I have been
blind to. In a world that is crashing
to the ground, you'd think that
everyone would become closer to
God... but truth is, the devil is
trying to outshine him, and collect
as many souls he can, for his lake of fire.
This line reached out to me most
"The more we curse the more thickly the glass becomes"
--oh how cleverly crafted, and SO very
full of truth.. our tongue is our biggest downfall, and each one thickens the glass even more as you have portrayed here. Eventually it will be to late if we do not repent.
This was a beautiful piece,
and I have learnt a lot from it.
Best of luck & thanks for entering
