My four new children are dogs now. Two thousand miles from home, they’re all I have left besides him. (the husband of 41 years). He’ll probably follow me to my grave and ask me to fix him some cheese and crackers before they lay me down to RIP.
I hold them like babies, cuddle them closely to my chest. They get inside my heart and leave love letters through doleful brown eyes signed in paws. They comfort me and I know I am a mother to them. (If and only for the food and treats they seek).
They are my children. Their soft fur touches my skin like white on rice. How I love them - they have no harsh answers - no wrath of angry gods - only love.
They teach and pray the agape love way as the happy wind does when it romps and plays. My charming pals: Angie (the old lady), Lacey (the beautiful princess), Buddy (dog chairman), Opie, the lovable dummy)
…and when there’s a heaven - I know I will find them there dancing at my feet.

Your love for your children is very apparent. Animals do seem to have an innocence about them that inspires love. Though he is not the main subject, your husband sounds like quite the character. Thank you for your entry.
