Innocence and naivety.
Breathe deep in the poisoned air of our lone earth, taste the noxious flavor as we draw it in, crisp clean air no longer has a place amongst the fumes, let it sear into your lungs and relish in the burning. This is our air and we have made it so.
Gaze apon the beauty of the cold sterile buildings that reach to the sky, shouldering each other for room, no more room left for small green things to stretch forth to the sun. Bark and root, replaced with steel and concrete, no space remains for the plants in our new metal forest. These are our trees and we have made it so.
While you walk atop this earth trust not another to do good, those others that walk on our new earth can not be met first with compassion and welcome, but with suspicion and disfavor, each moves only for it’s own purpose without thought towards any other. In this the world we have made for ourselves there is no space for innocence and naivety.
Now find your place in our world and do not stray amongst the fumes and tall artificial trees, while you walk the earth remember that you do so alone, if as you breathe the new air your lungs should fail or while you move along the undergrowth of buildings should you falter, call not out for aid, for there will be none. Adjust to the poisoned society or fall away into eternal rest.
So, now child welcome to the world we have made.
