reunion

on reunion after a faraway winter and spring,
my daughter--
she hugged me and kissed me
and cried inconsolably...

the first rains of another indian summer monsoon
came pouring down...
together we set paper boats sailing
over the pool in our backyard...
away somewhere...

  • This is beautiful...the imagery is magnificent! Thank you so much for entering!

  • A sweet sigh...

... of tender love. Your imagery is succint yet so very clear and full of depth. I see an implied comparison of the torrent of tear and the torrential rain, each showing its own love; and the juxtapositon of coming together and sailing away. The likenesses and contrasts make a truly touching impression.

    Peace and blessings,

    Rahad

Thank you friend. I am no longer bothered about poetry, as we believe what poetry is. There is more poetry in life when you drop the fascination with words that make poetry. Words are a trap. They are a mold that holds you within a pattern, a symbol, which is not reality, but a creation of your imagination, which is not live, but dead. It is difficult having to use words to describe what really is.

  • this is very tender and sweet...nothing like the love of a child...I know I love mine...thank you for sharing such a sweet story with all of us here today...peace and light, Kp
