Dwindle to Death

I am watching you slip, Mother
Going back to things best forgotten
I tried to keep the secret for you
But they all see it too
All except for your 'husband'
He sits by you day in and day out
Never does he realize what your doing
You promised you were better
But I see it for the lie it is
I walked in on you today after work
You fell asleep on the couch
You couldn't even make it to a bed
You make me want to cry
But my tears have long dried
Your going to kill yourself
I know I am watching you die
Please stop this insanity
I can't vouch for you anymore
And I would never again
I thought you changed Mother
But you just lied to me
I found your stash and threw it away
I am sure you have plenty more
But atleast I got to that one
Don't tell me to change
When you can't even change yourself
But I promise you this one thing
I will never be like you.

Author notes

I really believed that people could change, and because of her deceit I can no longer trust anyone. And that just proves that the people you love are the one to hurt you the most.
