I have a lot of friends who are graduating
I'm a year older and a bit wiser
listening to all the speeches at the gradaution
a few weeks ago
I agree with what most of the speakers said
Don't forget your college days
the friends and connections you've made
along with the memories
will last a lifetime
In additon I would like to say
that you souldn't let the
job market and how horrible it
is right now
get to you
It's true its daunting
when you see the numbers flash
across the bottom of your tv screen
listing unemployment rates
The right job while
it may take a year or more to find
will come soon just give it time
Let the sunshine in
and never let those memories
fade
times in the rain, sun and shade
When life gets you down
smile and say "It's fine"
Congrats class of 2009

I don't know how I missed this earlier but I love it! Thanks for sharing with us...
I love the rhyme at the end as well it just adds to the effectiveness...and speech like style.

You should let them see this poem. This isa good poem, it seems very reassuring. It does suck to graduate right when no one wants to hire!
