Love Doesn't End With Death

Love doesn't end with dying
Or leave with the last breath.
For someone you've loved deeply
Love doesn't end with death

So as we take our paths in life
And face what is to come
Remember in those times of strife
Love keeps her living on

Don’t fret about her passing
Don’t cry that she’s not here
Think of all the pleasant times
And know love keeps her near

Remember, passing through your days
The love between you two
And fill your mind with all the ways
That love keeps her here with you

For love doesn’t end with dying
Or leave with the last breath.
For someone you've loved deeply
Love doesn't end with death

Author notes

this is the poem i've written to read at my grandmothers funeral in two days. the first and last stanza are an epitaph i found on an old headstone near my pops grave, and i just extended it a bit to write this. She would have liked it i think

Please tell me what you think

I think the love for a close relative surpasses all other loves since it is not likely to fade when ageing looks or distance intervene. I hope your reading went well, my friend. May your lovely grandmother rest in peace. Tony x

Very grand way to remember loved ones that have this plane; but never our hearts.
