The Gunslinger's Destiny

The Man in Black fled across the Desert
and a lone gunslinger did follow.
Not knowing of his destiny, his purpose, or his plan
Only knowing that this "world moved on" was shallow.
The  gunslinger trekked across a bone dry desert
Knowing in the mountains far he would palaver
With this sorceror of sorts, this man in black, this evil one,
Servant of the Crimson King, this man named Walter.
En Route to those great hills, Roland did chance
Upon a young chambered boy whose name was Jake.
A boy by all means dead, yet here alive, yet out of place
A boy to whom existence seemed a fake.
So Roland at the hills, betrayed the boy and let him die
For more important to him was his Tower
And Roland there did learn his destiny as Ka's wheel turned
And so began his quest for the Dark Tower.

  • So how far based off the book(s) is this one? I never read them but I think I remember you liked that series. Good poem, I think, I have no idea of a reference point (ie: a section of one of the Gunslinger series's books, etc), but I like it anyway.

Keep writing! Write new stuff! Post it!

    Nag, nag nag...

    • The poem references locations and people all mentioned from the first book of the series "The Gunslinger" so any newcomer to the series who has just finished the book will completely understand the poem
