When I was asked to get up here and speak in front of all of you my face brightened up like the 4th of July and I was completely ecstatic. As the day progressed however, I began to think... Oh man, what am I going to say to these guys? Well, here I stand before you. . . Still trying to figure that part out. I'm kidding... it's ok you can laugh...(in case ppl don't laugh, say: Man, Tough crowd)
Life, what an amazingly interesting word that is. When the word "LIFE" is spoken, many things come to mind. Personally, my journey of where I have been,to the places I've traveled and the people I have met and encountered, they all have led up to the point of where I am in my life right now. As I stand before my peers, teachers, friends, and loved ones, I have come to realize a very important rule out of life that my Dad taught me. "Sacrifice now, so that you won't have to later on."Although I remember him saying this over and over, I failed to listen, mostly because I was as stubborn as he was... I realize though that through his experience of “LIFE” he was trying to protect me.I have made mistakes, I have fallen, and Yes, I had lost my way, but despite how bad things seemed to get...Dad, Mom, You stuck with me, pushed me, challenged me, and most of all continued to love me through it all... Thank you from the bottom of my heart! As you think about the word "LIFE" I want you to think about your life, about all the amazing things that have happened, the obstacles overcome and the objections you would not let stand in your way, to finally reach this point. . . Graduation Day
Because of ITT TECH I have met students here like Mary, who reached out to help someone like me get my first job here in Denver. She has become my best friend and partner in crime prevention. Teachers like Karen Duffalla who truly care, and have the knowledge and mind set to challenge and encourage us as students and adults each day, they continue to steer us on the straight and narrow, helping us to keep sights on the final goal... I stand before you now, not as a failure that I once saw myself as in the mirror, but as something more... A loving father, an Intelligent son, a dedicated friend, and most of all a better person.
Life, is about the choices we make. Regardless of the wrong choices we have made, we here, stand apart from the rest, because we all made the right choice to persevere and to become successful. Parents, Teachers, Peers, and Loved ones, take a look around this room at everyone in their caps and gowns... These people are truly amazing and talented individuals that will be making a difference in our future, because we are the future!
“I'm the author of my own life, As I write in blood, I Cannot erase my mistakes. . . “
You are the authors of your own lives, and although we cannot erase the mistakes of the past, we can choose to pick ourselves up and learn from them. We are the Masters... We Are the Commanders of our vessels.
I want to say a special thanks to the amazing teachers, My loving family, my friends, and the biggest inspiration in my life... my two children, Peyton and Gabriel. They are the world that I live in, and everything that I am striving to become...to achieve, is to better them, and to all the supporters out there for myself and my peers that sit before you now, I want to thank you personally, for being our Guiding light, you who never lost faith, never lost sight, and always believed...You are the Moore to which we have been tied. I pray my words ring true for all my peers when I say thank you for the patience and understanding that was given. . . and very much needed... I'm going to finish this off with a Poem that I wrote for our graduating class.
Life As We Know It
Aaron de Monbrun
Life started out with simple things
but as we grow old and wise
Things sometimes become difficult
Hidden, and yes sometimes disguised
We must discern for ourselves
Is this the right path to choose
Life is full of give and take
Sometimes we win, sometimes we lose
Despite mistakes we have made
We stand before you still
Stronger now, than ever before
Armed with knowledge, power, and will
Stepping in to the world today
We shall make our everlasting mark
We are the future of tomorrow
Please clap your hands as we embark!

I'm sorry that I can't give you any tips to revise this, it's just too damn good
I LOVED the part "You are the authors of your own lives" and that whole stanza. It reminded me of a quote from the novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" that goes something like "Even though we don't have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things, and we can try to feel okay about them". Great write and good luck with it!!
