Without Protest

Dreaming for pleasure
Like drugs
Floating off to where no one can touch me.
And somehow the story changes—

We’re never really invincible.

Cascade down to nightmares
And it’s only you that I see
Horrible
Beautiful
Just like real life
And yet
So much better.

For here, things are finished
And only here, in a world where

Up is Down
And
Yes is No

Finally this is where I can touch you
In your raging horror

Only here, without protest.

Please tell me what you think

This is a really deep and powerful poem with lots between the lines. Thanks for sharing and for commenting my piece.
My favourite part of this was "Cascade down to nightmares"
    That's really beautiful.
