Early on,
I'd tell him random things
Trivial facts, observations.
He'd always answer the same way.
"It's national Speak Like A Pirate day."
"Is it really?"
"It's going to hail this weekend."
"Is it really?"
"It's almost time to go."
"Is it?"
"Can't you say anything else?"
"No."
And we'd laugh.
"My sister is a witch."
"Is she, really?"
"....Maybe."
"I think my older brother has serious issues."
"Does he, really? He should meet mine."
And finally, one day.
Crying.
"I think my heart is breaking."
"Is it really?"
And things took off from there.
