We'd have done anything if you could've stayed
But my darling child left for Heaven above
Oh, please, Precious, don't...
Don't forget Mommy's love
Mommy's love...
Tucked you in at night
And chased away monsters with her flashlight
Mommy's love held you and taught you your prayers
And kissed your boo-boos and wiped away tears
My darling child left for heaven above
Oh, please Precious, don't...
Don't forget Mommy's love
[Instrumental]
Your love...
Said, "Mommy, don't cry,
"Don't be scared, I'll be alright."
And your love...
Promised me, "to the moon and back"
And until we meet again...
I will hold on to that
Author notes
These are actually lyrics, as I assume you can tell by the "instrumental".
This is for all the mommies who are suffering from the death of their child. I believe it must be the most painful thing in the world, to have a part of you ripped away.
My Riley boy, whom I believe I have mentioned on here before, was three when he passed away. I met his mother on the internet before he passed away, but after they were told there was nothing left they could do for him. One of the last things he told his family was not to worry, "I'll be okay". Just rip my heart out, will ya? Three years old, and so strong and brave.
I cannot imagine his poor mother's pain, how badly she wants to hear him call her "Mommy" again, how much she wants to feel his warm skin, and kiss his precious little sometimes-bald head. I do not know how she, and others going through similar things, do it. I want so badly to take all your pain away, please know that. I wish I could make it all better, but I realize a part of your heart will always be missing until you are reunited in Heaven, God willing.
I pray God will bless you and bring you peace
