Mother Nature
raised us from apes
from the infancy of our race.
She gave us her resources,
her home and her space.
We took from her everything
that she offered and more.
Mother Earth
you cried for us
as we grew up
and took you for granted.
We cut you down
and tore you up
without a thought for the future.
Now we return to her
feining piety,
obediance, and dedication.
She looks upon her creation
and sheds a river of tears
for the rebellion we have led
against her house and home.

Marvelous job with the prompt!
I love the concept of mother nature that you've used here.
