I Keep Holding On

I keep walking on
this ground which does not belong
to me.

I keep drinking up
this milk which did not come
from mother.

I keep hiking up
this skirt which make my legs appealing
to men.

I keep hoping that
some day I won't have to try so hard
for everyone

I keep holding on
because life has to get better
for me.

Author notes

This poem is about constantly trying for the sake of something unknown. You only hope it gets better.

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

  • I like the idea you were working from, but some of the lines seem choppy.

    "I keep holding on
because it has to get better
    doesn’t it?"

I like these lines, but I think an alternative for the last line should be used. The question doesn't feel right.
Other than those things this write has a great basic structure.
    Good job =)
