instantly I am every language
in a flash I am ancient and silent
epic and unfamiliar
I am every word not spoken
I am the archaic smile of Persephone
unnatural and beguiling, mother's heart
silence in the Telesterion
ancient and secret seeds,
Iakch, Iacchus, I will protect you
but you must never speak of what you've seen
I am handmaiden of the Lady of the Fountain
I will not see you, but you will see me
there is no better man for a woman than you
lord and lion, I will be faith
Pan laddodd Owain Fflamddwyn
Nid oedd fwy nogyd cysgaid
i am the Fisher King, the maimed king
taught never to ask questions
that which killed Christ and Caesar kills me
Longinus, Longinus
it does not heal, but spreads
come on Galahad, pilgrim, to the Waste Land
I am every dying language
every bloody hero's gasp
devoted, sealed to silence
home and heart forgot
Author notes
the Welsh in lines 16 and 17 translates to "When Owain slew Fflamddwyn it was no more to him than to sleep." It's from Marwnad Owain, an elegy. Owain, or The Lady of the Fountain is a Welsh romance from the Mabinogion.

womyn, you are perfection
the divine feminine
a fountain of blood in the shape of a girl
and this poem
is masterful.
