Breaking Wind- the Ugly Side of Beautiful

so there's this vampire guy and this human girl...
.
.
.
Oh, bite me, suck me, you rock-hard stud!
Sorry, gurl, I’m too busy sparkling.

But you’re ripping my heart out, you perfect piece of meat…
I can’t live without you!

Hang on a sec, you shallow bimbo,
I’m looking at myself in the mirror…

Alright then, I’ll just play you off on my werewolf bf…

Wha?

Ah, every teen girl’s dream-
guys drooling over her, hopelessly in love,

being strung along like lobotomized puppets...
(perfect-specimen supernatural guys, of course)

and the ability to be so continental about it;

Nothing like losing oneself in good-ol’ fantasy-empowerment
(right up Hollywood's alley)
before going back to hiding under the desk at school…

Author notes

"Breaking Wind" is a play on "Breaking Dawn", the fourth installment of the Twilight series;

I guess you can say this piece brings out the ugly side of beautiful in two separate scenarios...

  • ah yes, the vampire and wearwolf imagery, or anything gothic really, it's all in reflected thoughts, scribbled during math on the inside of an eye, a good piece.

      sounds like you aren't familiar with the Twilight teen romance quadrilogy (my term!)(and I guess you're a bit removed from 'teen romance' lol)- the second movie is in the works already... it's not Gothic, which is one of its pluses- the author was quite original with a tired old theme...

      thanks, I was supposed to bang on Twilight, but I actually liked the series lol... but peering deep into it psychologically, I found something, a chink in its armor...

          she did throw in some adult humor over the kid's heads, lol, like when the girl says to the vamp-stud, "bite me"...

            Yeah ...it was those little subtleties that did it...I believe there were more in the book than the movie though..
