When desperation seeks a reprieve, your words back hand me, leaving marks of naivity eched in my heart.
At the time, your implications of sincerity compensated for my irrational cynicism. But I had no clue that you were only trying to piece together my feelings out of boredom. I blinded myself to your unworldy greed, thinking that maybe I had found something that would last. Guess this whole time the sentiment of our friendship had only been a one way street.
And yet you continue to speak in illicit tongues. Bribing those who will listen with lies of integrity. All in the while convinced that it's possible to have your cake and eat it too.
It's hard to sit back, watching as hallowed contempt coarses through my veins but I'm convinced that one day your mirror will finally reflect the destruction of your actions.
