In Loving Memory-Memorial Day

On every soldier's tombstone there  should
Be a message of honour and respect and love
In Loving Memory of one who fought against
Evil to preserve what is right  and true and good

In Loving Memory of one who is a cut above
The rest of us who had the surpassing courage
The uncommon strength to do what had to be done
Perservering through hardship and also the pain

In Loving Memory of one who was brave enough
To give his life and his complete all so that those
He cared about would remain safe and free
In Loving Memory of a much treasured soldier

In Loving Memory of one who will never be forgotten!





Author notes

Writing in free verse for me comes naturally as it expresses what I want to say from the heart.I would recommend it and you will be surprised what you come up with.

    This is lovely. I wish I could write dedication poems but I become obsessed in making them perfect for those poor lost souls. Thank you for entering, this was wonderful.

    I agree. My friend will be there in two years. I am so proud of him, but i feel soooo scared for him. But they have seen real things, and I congratulate them for that.
