My Amazing Grace

Decisions made
Promises broken
Making my choice
But remain soft spoken
Was grace that taught my heart to heal
Yet is still remains shattered stone
Remaining simply because of love
Realizing we couldn’t be alone
By removing my conscience
I made my choices
Knowing it’s destructive
I tried silencing the voices
You the sickness
My soul infected
Giving my all
Yet I’m empty, so disrespected
No longer do I sit in my corner
I no longer shed tears
So tired from always running
To afraid to face my fears
Breaking meaningless promises
Forgetting pointless dreams
My past simply falling apart
My eternity ripping at its seams
The Lord being my shepherd
I will be only His sheep
I dry my face of wasted tears
Yet my soul does silently weep
But Lord I keep singing your amazing grace
And Lord you saved this wretch called me
I fall into my endless forever
I look, but still don't clearly see

    Ditto

"One tear, one smile, one day, one moment at a time." I saw the light and when I did I saw even more questions than I had before in a world where few things are clear cut. I just do my best and let God do the rest.

  • Hi, this is a truly amazing write- I love your use of alternate rhyme and metaphor..

    Especially this part here,

    "Breaking meaningless promises
    Forgetting pointless dreams
    My past simply falling apart
My eternity ripping at its seams"

    Great job with the prompt

Thank you so much for your entry and all the best to you!

P.S. I'm putting you on the finalists' list
