Two men stared at each other over fences.
They did not speak the same language.
One fell in love with a beautiful lady
while the other lusted for her.
The two men lived on,
never speaking, never able to.
The second man married as well,
and the first man had designs on her as well.
One day a child crept onto the second man's property.
He was running from his father.
But the first man didn't know that,
and the second man didn't know that,
and neither wife knew it either.
The child spoke in a tongue that nobody knew,
but everyone could tell for sure that the child
was very afraid as he jumped into the second man's arms.
The second man stared at the first man. He shrugged.
And just as the child's father broke through the bushes, the second man and the first stared in shock at how the child struggled and tried to escape.
But there was no escape. The father grabbed his son, and as the child screamed he yelled at him and carried him into the bushes. And just as quickly as he had appeared he was gone.
The first man looked at the second and said something. He was very angry, thinking that the second man had failed to protect the child. The other man yelled back, thinking that he was being insulted somehow.
So they fought against each other, and actually killed each other as the child who had stolen his father's wallet lay in bed and felt his spanking, knowing nothing about it.

I like that you have shared this story but what do you expect the reader to obtain from such a rendering? I would rather you have shown than told.
This story reminds me of the battle of brothers in every generation since the beginning of time. Cain vs. Able, Esau vs. Jacob, Ishmael vs. Isaac, and so on.
Thank you for this entry and for aspiring to become AllPoetry Poet Laureate. I wish you well in this challenge and life.
Much Love & Respect ♥
