When springtime dies

Crawling,
endlessly trawling,
earth, air, water,
sun fire,
growth.

Toiling,
sap boiling,
exploding to light,
colours bright.
Night.

Longer,
much stronger,
blossom, fruit, light,
Spring's  toughest
fight.

Ends.
Summer commends
Spring's full glory.
makes her
die.

i enjoyed reading this. i really like the whole giving nature a personality thing. its an enchanting poem.

  • wow, this is awesome, I love the swift rhythm of this and the short lines, it moves it right along, but not in a bad way. I enjoyed this a lot! Thanks for sharing. You're pretty good for someone who's "not much of a poet"
    Blessings,

    • My thanks, Michaela. Like I said, I really appreciate good poetry, so there's little point in me trying to emulate some of the better poets here; in fact if it wasn't for klassy lassy, I doubt if I'd ever have put anything up here. When she was ill, but recovering, tomisb ran a contest which I entered. Of course, Karen made some useful suggestions and alterations which I managed to delete! Pity, but the original's still up if you want to comment, it's called when it all comes to dust. probably not your taste, but see what you think.
