If,
somewhere in my past,
the world had turned just a touch differently
and I were left with writing
--that cruel yet irresistible mistress---
as my sole source of income,
I'd starve
Not always, mind,
some months thoughts burn
and I cannot write fast enough
Between those times though...
dry spells
no poems crying to escape
journal's spine barely even cracked
plus:
a complete lack of desire to write
Sometimes,
when I'm nearing the end of a dry time
and wondering how it's been so long
since I put ink to page
I wish for a slower burn
a steadier pace of inspiration
But then,
this question:
If I wrote more steadily,
would it still be worth it?
Author notes
Just a few thoughts on writing poetry as I do with showers followed by dry spells...
What do you think?

AWESOME!!!
I believe all of us goes throught times when we just cannot find the words to express what we are feeling. Then without warning the words flow quickly and easily.

I never lose, nor have I lost, the desire to write. Ever.
But sometimes I get writers block and I absolutely despise that.
