She turns the page only to find solace
from the world she truly enjoys
yet can't be part of.
Her lips speak the words
as though she sought
spiritual confession
to the ones she
cares for most.
The humble one seeks her
refuge in a tumble
and spill of words.
She tries.
The book holds her close
like the lover she
longs for yet
can't bring
herself to
have.
Through the book she tries.

Through the book she tries...

I know this feeling oh so well! I am one of those escape readers, who get lost in novels. This is an excellent take on the prompt.

This is beautiful, yet it holds a sadness, to want to be part of a life with love, but never grasping it.

Thank you. I'm not a big fan of doing the picture contests on here, but I thought that painting was beautiful and actually inspiring, so I went for it. I'm glad you liked it!
