Sometimes things get out of hand
even here in fairyland,
someone had put a rumour round
that a prince who was renowned,
tangled with a witch one day,
for this offence she made him pay.
This really left the prince agog,
to find that he was now a frog.
I caught him in the woods today,
and I'll not let him get away.
I kissed him, but to my surprise
he still wore his frog like guise,
and as I have'nt got a dog,
I thought that I would walk this frog,
and find the witch who laid the curse
to put the spell into reverse.
Then I will stick to him for life
and be his chubby fairy wife;
but the collar will remain
latched to a heavy ball and chain.

A very neat poem - and works well with the illustration - but to my mind, even better without it!
