On my desk is a wild flower...
I don't know its name anyway...
Almost withered but still having the power
of beauty in a most healing way.
By a little girl at a coach station
to me suffering from most foul ways
given with shy compassion...
It's worth thousands of flamboyant bouquets.
On my desk is a wild flower...
Looking pitiful? Whatever you say...
Almost withered 'cause it gave me the power
of beauty in a most healing way.

I think that this shows the beauty that can be found when we least expect it. The things that we don't realise that can be found in life, beauty and love and experience.
Even something withered has life.

Welcome to allpoetry
A lovely poem. The beauty a small flower holds. The power it has to make things better. God certainly knew what He was doing when He created flowers.
I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.
God Bless

Short! Passionate! Flawless! every word was used well, unwasted.
I loved its theme, The progression and the repitition.
I loved the morality and the compassion.
Your style is ioncredible.
MASTERPIECE!

Well done and Thankyou for entering
Good luck.

Welcome to AllPoetry
I like the first stanza of this, the almost dismissive way of saying you don't know the flowers name ... adds to the emotion within the next two stanzas for me
Wonderful poem
Thank You for Your Entry & Best of Luck
I hope you enjoy AllPoetry and continue to share your words with us

Touching
This was gentle and lovely. There was a French proverb that surfaced while I read this:
"L'an passé est toujours le meilleur."
"The year that is gone is always the best."

It's true that, sometimes, the smallest gestures can be the world. I love the story you've told, and it feels almost personal because, somewhere deep-down, we all know someone who did for us what that little girl did for your narrator.
Lovely and evocative write. Well done, & thank you for your most-beautiful entry
