Fluorescent skin radiates out to me
[I am mesmerized]
Hand reaches out, unbeknownst to the mind
And I am caught
Between this world and Hell.
Purgatory
Thrown back and forth
Pulsating with your rays
And your eyes
[God your eyes are like a hurricane…
And I want more…]
You are the sun
Slowly passing out cancer
And I gathered an entire armful
Took it unto me and breathed,
Breathed as if my heart was on fire
[And oh how I only wanted more]
I stared at you so long
That I went blind
You and I, the only two left,
But as I tried to dance with you
I burned my fingertips,
Sucked them clean,
And tried again.
I moved too close to you.
It singed my lashes
Burned my toes,
Left every little hair on my measly form
Standing up in
Anticipation.
[Add a heart attack to the cancer]
You pushed me back, again,
The last time, for now.
I clawed my way forward
Grasping at your throat
[Love me, I said. Need me.]
You laughed, cut off my fingers,
And I fell to cling to the face of the earth.
Author notes
The title is not anything real. It has nothing to do with the poem, at least not at the moment. It's simply the random letters I typed when I had to title it to send it to a friend to critique. But I kind of liked them. lol
