Truth dawns
As day dawns
Day after day...
Blinking, weary eyes turn away
Refuse to take it in
Refuse but ~relent~
Relent and see...
The dilapidated structures that once held such promise of times gone by
Dreams crumbled to piles of dust
And the visions return...
The reckless, foolhardy steps on fragile ground
Rushed
And then the Understanding
Oh the Understanding
The slow Understanding
The clock ticks a lifetime into existence
A lifetime spent trying beat the wonders of
~hindsight~

this is full of deep seated ideas and thought...I would encourage you to put your energy into something a bit more rewarding than trying to stop the lessons of hindsight. You will always have it. It is a valuable tool to carry with you into future decision making. Great job. I enjoyed this. peace an dlight, kp

It's great to see you writing again Kelly. I'm sorry to see the poem has a sadness in it and I get a fairly strong idea of what the lamentation is about. Things are never as sweet as we want them to be in our dreams. Still, as always i've really enjoyed reading. You've not lost your seductive writing style. Hope all is well and something bright shines on the horizon to keep you motivated. Miss speaking to you, Jon x
