Pain

She holds the bottle to her lips
Hoping theres one more sip
          Anything to fade the pain
of watching as her son was slain
They come and go as she slowly slips
Away losing her grip.

This poem, even though short is really powerful. It hits right on point and slices right through the heart. Other than that I'm speachless.

  • aww! this is so sad! this held alot of meaning as luv said below. i love it! such emotions in this piece, and so well defined. keep up the good work!!

  • sad, i like the shortness of it, because sometimes the less words a poem has the more meaning it holds, this was a sad poem, but it holds a lot of truth in the way that some parents take the death of their children.

This poem is short and sad yet it gets directly to the point.

I'm sorry for the loss if this poem stems from personal expierence.
