Death means never having to say sorry

Went to a funeral the other day
It was starring me
I was lying in such state
Swear they put makeup upon my face
All those dam flowers gave me hayfever

There was all my loving family
All fidgeting and sitting awkwardly
Never seen em dressed so well
Must have been to the down town "Hire a suit and gown" shop
some had even had a bath

I was havin such a laugh
So much bullshit not half
all suddenly loved me ..he he
I had been such wonderful friend, brother er other
In fact I all but saved the world

and I had a great sense of humor

Then the minister said his piece
and threw a lump of dirt on me
So did all the others
They lowered me body down
Then they went to the pub in town

All then got pissed and had a punch up....

Laughed at how you ended this one...

Smart and funny, all in one poem. I love poems about graveyards and the idea of a brawl after a funeral really makes me smile. Odd, that. My mortician friend told me a story (true) of a crazy guy who pulled a gun after the services 'cos he was mad at the family. Everybody scattered and nobody went to the burial. lol
