Soccer

I weave and I run.
Kicking and sprinting is part of the battle.
The checkered rock darts straight throught their legs.
I crave the constant intensity.

I scream and yell.
My team hollers
to keep the opponents from breaking my stride.

The center of it all, glides and bounces,
Rolling back and forth between my cleats.
The soccer ball flies from my laces into the air.
The game crawls forward.

The ball flies and sails like a delicate bird,
Twirling in the air above the field.
The ball slips through the goalie's gloves.
No one can drop the confidence level I have.

The ball collides against the net, and I have caught a joyous victory.
That exact moment pays up for the backbreaking, painstaking work I've put in.
With every goal I score, I rule the world.

This is an interesting piece, quite up beat and well written. You make the reader feel as though they are involved in a game of soccer as they read. Great job!

Very descriptive. I felt like I was right there watching the game. Excellent job with imagery. I would only make the suggestion to format a little better. Even out the lines. More uniform lines gives consistency and is easier to follow.

I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment. Thanks for your entry.

    God Bless

    Welcome to Allpoetry

    This was absolutly AWSOME!
Your imagery, your diction, everything was perfect. This is real freeverse at its best.
Cannot and will not fault your work becasue there is nothing to flaw and I loved the way you took such a contravercial subject like soccer becasue I hate it and make me want to love it and get involved with your pivital language that coaxed and persuade my interest. well done.

    MASTERPIECE HERE!
    max.

  • Welcome to Allpoetry

Excellent work here, dear poetess. I was never much of an athlete, but I was a competitive dancer for 8 years, so I understand where you're coming from. Every win, and just being on your game, so to speak, is reason to celebrate; be grateful for the talent with which you've been very blessed

Just a tip: I suggest cutting down on the filler-words (I, but, etc...), as they can obstruct your poem's flow and message. Other than that, well done & thank you for your entry

Keep on rockin' in the free world!
