Humorous

Walking down the street one day,

I walked into a strange.

He asked me if I had seen,

 a labador retriever.

I asked him if he was okay,

He said he could be better.

He said he had lost something that day,

He said it was his dog and sweater.

I told him no worry I would help him find,

we started to walk a ways.

When I turned on a dime,

There standing behind us was the best part of the day.

He had not lost his dog and sweater,

For they had been next to him forever.

I laughed and pointed and said good day,

For I helped a stranger not in need.

Author notes

I am not very good at humorous poems but it is true and I thought it was funny at the time.

  • Well this definitely did bring a smile to my face! I have never had the experience of misplacing my dog next to me--but I have often wondered where my glasses or necklace are when I already have them on. Really great poem--tells a good story and has a nice rhyming flow to it. There are a few grammar/spelling things to fix, but nothing major. Great write!

  • I haven't read this yet...just came to see if it was on your page so I could help you get it into the contest. Basically my other msg gives the instructions...if you can't figure it out, I'll come back and read this when I judge the contest. Best Wishes.
