A Love Poem

I have a poem dancing in my mind
Red Roses with sweet tasting wine
Trying to place this to a pad
My concentration broken, So sad

Creatures of the night sing a erotic song
Until dogs begin to bark Along
Sounds of the road break on through
Feeling my anger become unglued

Just for you I wanted to compose
A poem more beautiful than a rose
To capture the softest of the pedals
The words like rain fall then settle

To hold this rose in my hand
Taking in her fragrance so grand
To hold you in my arms
Never could I cause you harm

I desired for you to read this and know
That you a part of my heart and soul
Our love is really too sweet
Kisses are more like a tasty treat

My words could never give justice or prevail
For it is hard to place into rhyme emotions so real
Quickly my words lose the luster
As my mind begins to falter

My emotions well up as I fear I may drown
If I dare not stop writing words down
I just will never tell you just how I feel
For that I just could never reveal

I know that you know I will always be a friend
And because of that, with my heart I set down this pen
