Remembering Back

Going back many years ago

To that first step when I left home.

My own place with others that shared

Above the shops

With the layout so weird.

Bedrooms on first floor

Bathroom on second,

Kitchen and living room were at the top.

Three floors to my flat

Me, Lisa and John

I thought things were great, things would go wrong.

Lisa was mad, She loved a good drink every night I would be cleaning her sick.

John was gay, he didn't care,a different fella a night

Not treating the flat fair.

Then there was me, working real hard

Paying all the bills, no help at all.

Main road just out side

No garden or patio just the window to go out side.

I'd sit out the window each single night

To get away from the others, things wasn't right.

I was only 16 but was acting like 50

After three months, my time there had ended.

I had to get out.

The fights in the street, the police going up and down the road

The feeling of always being scared and alone

To much to take, to much to bare.

So I was back with mother and father

And for once, treating them fare.

    touched me :)

hahah oh this is such a common tale of those who choose to move out so young. I personally had similar experiences to this - a nightmare range of housemates in the different flats I lived in around the city. But I stuck it out and did not go back to mothers.

this would have been a valuable experience though!

    Nicely penned here. thank you
