You say that I have wings,
White and glowing,
So close to perfect,
That you doubt my humanity.
I’ve made mistakes.
I’ve fallen on my face.
My wings didn’t catch me.
You see beauty,
But I see scars and pain.
If I once had wings –
They are now broken,
If I was ever purely beautiful,
Then these scars ruin it all.
Watch the sky change –
Break.
I live here too.
Perfection.
It’s such a foreign concept –
So far from you and me.
This world is so broken,
And so are all of us.
Don’t call me “Angel,”
I’m no heavenly being.
I am human, just like you.

Author notes
I want to fix a lot of this, but I wrote it because people have always been calling me angel or perfect. The fact is I'm NOT perfect. I'm anything but. People have also said that I'm the closest thing to perfect they have ever seen. I don't know about that. I would disagree. I'm human too.
