As Spring falls upon the deserving
I see a bird.
With a brilliant red chest,
With a voice equal to that of an angel.
As if reading my mind it approaches me
In all its Grace and Beauty.
-But flies away
For it is someone else's bird
The next day I see it again.
But this time there is a vulture above my head.
As it looms down on me,
The bird gives me a hopeful look.
-But then flies away,
For it still is
Someone else's bird
As I see it one last time
In the distance,
I know now,
Under this Hawaiian sun
That she will always be
someone else's bird.

Aww this piece is so incredibly sad!
At first it was just so lovely with beautiful imagery then it turned to sorrowful.
Nicely done!
