fault lines and future bridges

i found a scar on the ocean floor
ripped through unhealed perforation
and entered, knowing
nothing could be warmer
than asphyxiation
by 200 proof blood,
i swelled with it
and felt an amniotic dripping
down my legs and

up my chest

i trembled at night
watching babies crawl
into my throat,
felt the reverberation of crying
in my gut
and tried to burn it out
with whatever was warm enough
to soothe the androgynous sting,

refusing to accept that some crevices

are too deep to traverse,

that i am sentenced

to a planet with nothing

but two poles, both

so

cold

Author notes

they put angels in the electric chair
and no one knew or no one cared
but burning stars lit up their hair
and crawled to heaven on golden stairs
and oh, how we to and fro

-a silver mt. zion, "god bless our dead marines"

sorry it's been so long... more in the near future

split milk, not spilt milk
