Lookin' back, I regret....The promise we never kept.
We met in 5th grade, on that train. On our way to DC, on the run from our home. We traveled far and our friendship grew. Sadly thats where it was left, me and you.
6th grade I saw you in the back of the class room. All black, you were hunched over like somethin' was troublin' you. I said I've forgiven you, but really i'm the one to sue...
7th grade we were so dang distant, seperated by one dark gaping instant. I overheard that secret of yours, Somethin' I already knew. Yet it struck me, right outta the blue!
8th grade I told you the feelin's I had bout' you. Y'said "No Nate, I don't have the same type of view...". It was like bein hit like a ton o' brick. Yet, I still...Yes I still pulled through!
9th grade, here we are. Best of friends has got us far, thats me and you. I wanna ask you this one last time, "Do you feel me like I feel you?" My heart never changed. And you? God, I'm hopin it's been rearranged!
Best of friends forever. That, I understand....But somethin' more we need, is a bond that will never end.

I'm stuck here in 8th grade. By the time I'm in 9th, I'm really hoping things will of changed. In reality, I'm the one who needs to be rearranged...
