Swallow

With a mouthful of sunlight
tasting more bitter than bright
And nightshade as a second course
poison so sweet

Slumber overtakes the noon day hours
and subconscious dances with evening
A wonderful waltz of pain and love
through tears with a grin

You appear with the setting sun
and depart before before I become whole
With Icarus in tow
to trample my intentions

Evading a conversation so true
with lies of the future
A heart lying ignorant
with the eyes of Oedipus

Gouged out because of a love
deemed unclean by the gods
No blood relation between
but strong feelings rage

Only vicariousness
bring us together
And silence so loud
banishing this titan

With a world of suffering
chained to my back
Ever to wonder this world
alone with a yearning
