Mother's Day is supposed to be a day for mothers.
I honored my mother, sent her a card.
But I am a mother too.
I wanted to be acknowledged and honored too.
The day was just another day.
No special acknowledgments for me.
My heart was heavy and sad.
It seemed that I was forgotten by those I hold dear.
One ray of sunshine came in an otherwise dull day.
My daughter called and wished me a Happy Mother's Day.
She was the only one that acknowledged me that day.
It lifted the heaviness and sadness for me.
It was good to know that I was not forgotten.
And when my daughter becomes a mother,
I hope that she is not forgotten by her children,
When Mother's Day comes for her.

I'm glad that I was able to lift your day by calling you on Mother's Day. I'm sorry that Keith did not call you and acknowledge you. I am very happy that I have you for my mother. I've always thought of you as my hero because to me there is nothing that you cannot do. I have watched you work a full time job and go to school full time. And when I was young I would watch you work two full time jobs and still manage to cook dinner. I know that it was very hard on you and I know that you didn't get much help with it all. But I want you to know that I always appreciated everything you ever did for us. You are truly my hero momma, and I love you very much. I wish that I could have made your mother's day even better and I'm sorry that I couldn't. You are wonderful momma.
Your daughter,
Sadie.
