I once had a goldfish named Chester,
Who was such a pester.
He was such a tease,
Never wanting to eat his cheese,
It made me want to sneeze!
My kitty, named Cat,
Always in awe sat;
Wanting to pat the fatty,
And shit like thatty!
I always had to break them up,
Giving Chester a good thump.
It wasn't Cat's fault,
Chester should be locked in a volt.
He was such a pain,
I wanted to call him Wayne.
But one day,
Chester had to pay.
Oh, Chester, why couldn't you stay?
Kitty loved you, as did I,
Watching you as we ate our pie.
Floating belly up,
I regretted giving you a thump.
But now it's too late,
To change your tragic fate,
And now I have a goldfish named Kate.
While you swim in the lake,
Never again to eat your cake.
Oh, Chester,
Why were you such a pester?
Author notes
This is a joke!
I am well aware that a child could write this, or poems at this level, and I did not intend to make this an academic poem.
