Sunset

Lying here together,
the marigolds bathe in the
evening light, and as we slip off
to serenity, starlings greet the
fading light with sweet melodies.

Bumblebees cluster together to
harvest the remnances of nectar
from the flowers to return to the Queen,
forming new life in the hexagons
as fireflies dance to the whirrs of Cicadas,
beating furiously.

And as we take in the ambience,
stars glitter on the rich blue banner
lighting cosmic pathways, to accompany the
full moon's glow.  And all this time we wonder
how we're getting home.
